This is a glass-framed internal engine parts one with clear to see maker markings also a 50 cal bullet case remains and projectile which are nice clean sections and parts. The parts have ripped and smashed by the impact of the crash and are in very solid condition and have been carefully cleaned and retains some of there original colours. They have been presented in a glass-fronted box frame, complete with background information and numerous photographs including the uboat pen , making them perfect for display. The frame measures 10 half inches by 10 half inches in size.The parts are from American B17 flying fortress number 42-24584 named Susfu. The B17 was shot down on the 23rd of January 1943, while on bombing a mission to the German U-boat pens in Lorient, France. The bomber was attacked by Focke Wulf 190’s and crashed at Abbey Pleyben near Edern, Brest.

As the B17 bomber was crashing to ground Lieutenant Robey bailed out, but was machine gunned by the German fighters, while floating to the ground in his parachute. Lieutenant Moser was killed within the first instant of the attack on the B-17 bomber by the German fighters.
