This is a nice condition relic German Wehrmacht [Army] soldier’s steel belt buckle which still has some of its markings fairly clear to see.The eagle and swastika are partly clear more on the back then the front. The buckle is complete with its clip on the back which has rusted solid the whole buckle is rusty and has some light damage. It is a solid relic which has been very carefully cleaned it is perfect for display or any collection. A unusual relic battlefield find in this condition. The buckle was recovered from a field near Trun, believed to be a pit dug by the Allies where large amounts of German equipment were discarded and buried following the Battle of the Falaise Pocket, Normandy, France, in 1944. A rare and interesting relic from the famous Normandy battlefield, it comes with an A5 laminated information sheet.
