German Wehrmacht soldiers belt buckle with some original markings that was recovered from the village of Trun in Falaise Pocket, Normandy in 1944
This is a nice condition relic German Wehrmacht [Army] soldier’s steel belt buckle which still has some of its markings fairly clear to see.The eagle and swastika are partly clear more on the front then the back. The buckle is complete with its clip on the back and retains some of its original colour in places with only minor rust and light damage. It is a solid relic which has been very carefully cleaned with rust remover and high power cleaner making it perfect for display or any collection. A rare battlefield find in this condition. The buckle was recovered from a field near Trun, believed to be a pit dug by the Allies where large amounts of German equipment were discarded and buried following the Battle of the Falaise Pocket, Normandy, France, in 1944. A rare and interesting relic from the famous Normandy battlefield, it comes with an A5 laminated information sheet.
