British soldiers lovely condition barbed wire cutters dated 1944 found in the early 2000’s on a local brocante or fair at Flers in Normandy from the battle in the summer of 1944 in France.
This is a pair of lovely condition British soldiers barbed wire cutters which are not relic and work perfectly. They are lovely condition still with there original black colour they have lovely maker markings on both sides and dated 1944 and are in very nice condition not relic. They have been nicely cleaned and are perfect for display or any collection.The wire cutters were found in the early 2000’s on a local brocante or fair at Flers in Normandy from the battle in the summer of 1944 in France and comes with a A5 laminated information card.
Like other towns near the D-Day landing, Flers was one of the targets of strategic bombing of Normandy on 6 and 7 June 1944, aimed at reducing the advance of German reinforcements. 80% of the town was destroyed. What remained of the town was liberated on 16 August 1944 by the British 11th Armoured Division.
