Rare German pocket knife maker marked recovered in 1990’s while a trench was being dug laying cables on the grounds of old Leibstandarte SS Adolf Hitler (LSSAH) barracks in Berlin-Lichterfelde
This is a rare to find complete pocket knife which is German used properly taken from a captured enemy soldier and re used by a German Soldier because the maker markings could be Eastern European not German but was found all German items. The knife is Bakelite handle with all the blades still there but rusted solid the knife is in relic condition rusty but solid and are in overall good condition with a lot of original colours and clear to see maker markings.The knife has been very well cleaned and is perfect for display and a rare one for any collection.This knife was recovered in the 1990’s while a trench was being dug laying cables on the grounds of the old Leibstandarte SS Adolf Hitler (LSSAH) barracks in Berlin-Lichterfelde. The dagger comes with 3 x A5 laminated information cards with many pictures.
The Leibstandarte SS Adolf Hitler (LSSAH) barracks in Berlin-Lichterfelde were a significant Nazi-era military base, later used by the U.S. Army as Andrews Barracks, and today are being converted into apartments and shops, retaining some historical significance while shifting to civilian use in Berlin's Lichterfelde district.
The barracks in the Finckensteinallee were originally built for the Prussian army and were later used by the Hitler’s bodyguard unit Leibstandarte-SS Adolf Hitler. Between 1945 and 1994, the barracks were used by the US Army. Nowadays, it is occupied by the German Federal Archives.
