This is a very nice find MG15 machine gun drum magazine which is in relic condition with some rust holes and rust damage but still a nice find. The magazine which has no real maker stamps that can be seen it also has its ammunition spacers inside of it as well and does have a large impact hole and damage to the bottom of magazine and still with some of its original black paintwork remains. The magazine is rusty but nice it has been very well cleaned and is perfect for display or any collection and is very solid not breaking up or crumbling and is still a very solid relic and very rare to get in such nice condition. The magazine which is empty of all ammunition. The magazine would have been used in the Panzer Lehr Division as it was recovered from a lake East of Bastogne in the Ardennes Forest from the Battle of the Bulge in the winter of 1944-45.
The magazine comes with 2xA5 laminated information cards with a map as well.
The magazine was recovered from a lake which was used as a dump site for battlefield clearance the area where the lake is, was attacked by the German 26th Volksgrenadier Division and elements of the Panzer Lehr Division they had the only anti-tank ans ant-aircraft gun units in the area.
