GERMAN M31 RUCKSACK FROM THE 116th PANZER DIVISION RECOVERED FROM THE VILLAGE OF WIBRIN NEAR HOUFFALIZE IN THE ARDENNES FOREST
This backpack along with other items were abandoned in a farm building by the 116th panzer division when they withdrew from the area. German forces captured the village on December 16th,1944 & it was only liberated a month later following intense combat on the 14th of January 1945. It was found by a local collector who had them in his private collection until 2020 when it left the Ardennes area for the first time since the war.
Condition - Fabric is in stable condition not falling apart although the bottom of the bag is ripped out. Leather parts do not feel brittle and have some flex in their movement.
