German Kriegsmarine U-boat 2cm Patr.Kst 30 (st) C/38 flak gun ammunition container lid found during excavation works near the Wilhelmshaven naval base.
The watertight container would have held 100 rounds of 2cm ammunition . in the original black & white photograph you can see the containers stacked on the dockside waiting to be loaded aboard .
In recovered condition, has been cleaned and is ready for display. Locking mechanism not fully turning, would need more work to free up totally
