This is a German infantry assault badge medal in relic and recovered condition.The medal is in nice solid condition with some of its original markings visible and is later war mag allow made. The badge is in nice condition with its eagle and swastika insignia partly clear to see and only has some damage in places. On the back of the badge the pin is missing. It has been nicely cleaned and retains some original colour in places and is perfect for display or any collection.The badge was recovered from a field near Trun, which we think was a pit dug by the allies where lots of German equipment was thrown in and buried after the battle in the Falaise Pocket, Normandy in France 1944. A nice, rare relic from the famous Normandy battlefield and it comes with A5 laminated information sheet.
