This is a very rare to find a German HZ 16 Percussion 57.5mm fuze model 1916, 1st pattern double effect with or without delay for high explosive and gas shells fired by 10cm lFH 98/09, 10cm lFH 16 and 10cm lFH Kp light howitzers. The fuse has been fired and does not have too much impact damage. The fuse and has ripped clean of the shell during the impact of being fired. It is in very nice condition it has none of its original maker markings, numbers that can be seen but still has lots of original colour. It has been very well cleaned it is nice and solid. It is not breaking up or falling apart and is perfect for display or any collection. This fuse was recovered on the 1916-1918 Somme battlefield on the Western front.
