This is a rare battlefield find: a German Feldgendarmerie soldier’s police gauget remains, missing one edge. The gauget has no visible markings but retains some original paintwork. It is a relic in solid condition, nicely cleaned, making it an excellent display piece or addition to any collection.
The gauget was recovered from a field near Trun, believed to be from a pit dug by Allied forces where large amounts of German equipment were discarded and buried following the Battle of the Falaise Pocket, Normandy, France, 1944. A rare relic from this famous Normandy battlefield, it comes with an A5 laminated information card with a picture.
