This is a unusual German shell case to get battlefield recovered. This is a lovely condition German 15cm Schwere howitzer 13 Cartridge case a separated propelling charge with a lot of discolor from being buried but still complete. The case still retains some of its brass colour but is very dark and discolored also green in places. The case is complete on the bottom with some of its original markings and is dated November 1916 all clear to see and is perfect for display or any collection and very rare to get recovered from the battlefield in this good a condition and is empty and inert. The case was recovered in 2011 from part of Regina Trench near Courcelette this area was defended by German soldiers of Marine Infantry Brigade which was attacked by the 2nd Canadian Division in October 1916 during the Allied advance on the Somme battlefield.The case comes with 2xA5 laminated information cards with map and pictures.
