Glass-framed very rare airframe sections that still with mauve camouflage paintwork from Messerschmitt 109 work number 7295 of 6/JG53 when it was shot down over Malta on the 15th May 1942

This is a glass-framed very rare pair of aluminium airframe sections that both still retain some of there original mauve camouflage paintwork only used by some Luftwaffe squadrons in the Mediterranean the parts still have lots of original colours. The parts have ripped,bent and smashed by the impact of the crash but are in nice solid condition and have been carefully cleaned. They are presented in a glass-fronted box frame, complete with all aircraft information and numerous photographs, making it perfect for display or any collection. The frame measures 13 inches by 13 inches in size.The parts come from Messerschmitt 109 work number 7295 of 6/JG53 based in Sicily. The Messerschmitt 109 was in action over Malta on the 15th May 1942 when it was shot down by RAF spitfire flown by Squadron leader Douglas-Hamilton of 603 Squadron. The pilot of the Messerschmitt was Leutnant Herbert Soukop. Herbert was wounded after the head-on attack by the spitfire. He baled out and was captured with a broken arm and taken prisoner of war. The Messerschmitt crashed at Hal Far in the extreme south of Malta.
