French Lebel model 1886 rifle bayonet and scabbard, lovely brass condition handle recovered from where the British and French front lines meet at Maricourt on the 1916 Somme battlefield.

This is a lovely condition French M1886 pattern bayonet which has its nice shiny brass handle with its steel scabbard which has bent but near complete with no real paintwork remains. The bayonet blade is snapped at the handle so only a small part is still attached but the handle is complete which has its lovely original colours and both are in very nice relic and solid condition, which has been nicely cleaned and is perfect for display or any collection. The bayonet and scabbard was recovered from where the British and French front lines meet in the area at Maricourt on the June-July 1916 Somme battlefield. The bayonet and scabbard comes with A5 laminated information cards and map.
