This is a rare to find French 1887 pattern Army issue prewar, 1 litre water bottle used by cavalry soldier.The bottle is nice to find in this condition with some of its original colour and light blue paintwork remains. It is solid and not breaking up or falling apart. The bottle is missing its cover and top it is rusty but only light surface rust not thick heavy rust or holes it is very solid it is in very nice condition fairly smooth to the touch and has been well cleaned and is perfect for display or any collection. The bottle was recovered many years ago on the Verdun battlefield of 1916-1918 in France and comes with A5 laminated information card.
