Exhaust valve from Daimler - Benz DB601 engine on Messerschmitt Bf 109E-7B work number 2059 "Brown Eight" which was shot down on 20th October 1940, crashing at Chapel farm Lenham Heath, Kent during the Battle of Britain. The pilot Franz Maierl was seen to bail out with his chute on fire. Unfortunately he did not survive and is buried in the local cemetery..
