Exhaust section from inside the engine on German Fieseler Storch Fi 156 work number 1411 W5+BK protecting battleship Tirpitz when it crashed on the 8th May 1944 in Norway
This is a rare to find a exhaust section from inside the engine on German Fieseler Storch. The section with all its bolt holed bracket which is only partly there the rest is missing it is in nice condition and lots of its original steel colour very clear to see it does not have much rust at all only around the bracket. The section has ripped and smashed by the impact of the crash it has been very well cleaned and retains a lot of original colour it is still nice and solid and is perfect for display or any collection. The exhaust comes from German Fieseler Storch Fi 156 F-1 of Stab Jafu Norwegen, work number 1411 W5+BK protecting battleship Tirpitz when it crashed on the 8th May 1944 at Fættenfjord, Nord-Trøndelag in Norway. The exhaust comes with 3xA5 laminated information cards with crash site pictures and picture of the part on the aircraft..
The aircraft flew into one of the three air defence cable placed across the narrow Vuddu valley to protect "Tirpitz", during flight from Værnes to Hattfjelldal.
Oberleutant Bolz Gerhard, Obergefreiter Sigel Walther (eikeløvsbærer) Hilburg, Gustav. All buried at Havstein Cemetery. The Storch had been coming low into the fjord, and had hit one of the vertical wires attached to the main horizontal wire. Its propeller had then twisted up the wire, the plane was hanging for some seconds before falling into the ground with its tail down. It hit the ground few meters above the railway line
