This is a engine case section from outer case of a piston inside the Daimler-Benz engine still with its grooves where the piston sat in.The part has ripped and smashed off in the impact of the crash it still has some original colour the part has been very well cleaned and is a lovely part of internal engine the section is 7 inches by 7 inches wide and a nice one for display or any collection.The engine part comes from German Messerschmitt bf109 work number 3784 flown by Hauptmann Wilhelm Ensslen who was Gruppenkommandeur of stab 2/JG52 he was shot down on the 2nd November 1940 during the Battle of Britain.

The plane was shot down in a dog fight with RAF Spitfire flown by Squadron Leader J.A Kent of Number 92 squadron the plane crashed at Burmarsh Halt near Dymchurch in Kent. Wilhelm Ensslen bailed out but was killed on Landing.The part comes with 2 x A5 laminated information sheets with pilots photograph.
