This is a Electrical junction or connection box cover from the FuG radio system from inside the cockpit of German Junkers JU88 bomber.The box cover with some stamped marking clear to see on the inside of it still with lots of original black paintwork. The box is 5 inches long and 5 inches wide in size still its original colours but has some damage from the crash and being buried but nothing bad. The box still has lots of it’s original colours it is very solid and have been very well cleaned it is perfect condition for display or any collection.The part is from the cockpit of German Junkers JU88 bomber work number 0345.This was a night fighter of 4/NJG2 which was on a night intruder sortie over East Anglia, England on the 17th April 1941 and the night fighter crashed and exploded near Peterborough.The part comes with 2 x A5 laminated information cards.
The crash remains a mystery as there are British fighter claims of a ju88 for that night and its was not shot down by Anti-aircraft fire. The plane crashed late in the night at Hurns Farm, Gedney Hill near Peterborough.
