This is very rare electrical battery with cardboard outer case which is maker marked and dated 1944 fairly clear to see the battery is in semi-relic condition amazing to have survived from the battlefield being cardboard. The battery remains are fairly solid, not breaking up or falling apart but needs to be handled carefully.The battery which is 4 inches tall still has the original cardboard color and black stamped remains are still partly visible, overall presenting a very nice condition part which is perfect for display or any collection.The battery comes from inside German uboat number U-534. This was sunk by RAF Liberator bombers in the Katteget sea off Denmark on the 5th May 1945 in the last days of the War.
