Drivers hatch from an American Sherman Tank of the 2nd Armoured Division

This hatch was recovered from the battlefield near the village of Houffalize in the Ardennes by a local collector and only left the area around five years ago to come to the UK. It is in excellent condition, with some original paintwork remaining and extensive scarring from battle damage and shrapnel hits. A rare and highly desirable piece, especially in this condition, it would make a fantastic addition to any collection.

The hatch came from a Sherman tank of the 2nd Armoured Division, which saw action against the German 116th Panzer Division in January 1945, helping to halt the German advance during the Battle of the Bulge in the winter of 1944�1945.
