Czechoslovakian wooden ammunition crate used by the German Army fired by VZ/1419 field gun it carried 3 rounds of ammunition found in Dieppe used in Normandy 1944
This is a very rare Czechoslovakian wooden ammunition crate captured and re used by the German Army fired by VZ/1419 field gun it carried 3 rounds of ammunition.
The box is in fantastic condition with all its original black stamped German markings on the lid and the red Czechoslovakian markings, which are both fairly clear to see. There is a paper label on one end where some markings can be seen. Its hinges are in nice condition and work. It has both its cloth carry handles. The locks still work perfectly. The lid still opens and closes perfectly on the outside of the box. It has all of its original brown stain colour with no real damage other than from wear and tear and use. No woodworm on the inside, and a lovely German paper label on the inside of the lid with most markings still readable.
A very nice example and very rare to find Czech box captured and re used by the Germans .The crate came from a private collection in Dieppe originally used by the German Army in the Normandy campaign in the summer of 1944.
