Rare to find British army 25 pounder artillery gun 4 shell carry box dated 1942,nice condition bought back from the North African battlefield of 1940-1943.

This is a unusual to get North African relic which is British army 25 pounder artillery gun 4 shell carry box dated 1942 which has no internal racking. The box is complete and in nice used condition, showing only light rust and retaining much of its original black and green paintwork both inside and out. It remains solid with only very light surface rust in a few places. The hinge works, allowing the lid to open and close, but it does lock properly but is stiff. The carry handle is still present and working the box still retains lots of original clolours and has been very well cleaned is perfect for display or any collection.The box was brought back by a British soldier an artillery gunner in the 3rd Regiment Royal Horse Artillery (3rd RHA) of the famous Desert Rats (7th Armoured Division).He lived in and around the Newark area in the Midlands and after he passed away the box was found in his garden shed being used as a tool box. The item comes with two laminated A5 information cards featuring multiple photographs.
