This is a propelling charge British 4.5 inch howitzer shell case is in very nice condition it still retains its shiny brass colour but it has a bit of discolour in places but nothing to bad. The case still has all of its original markings on the bottom very clear to see including the date 21st March 1917 with its primer dated June 1917. The case has been very well cleaned and perfect for display or any collection .The case was recovered in Polygon wood from the September 1917 battle part of the third battle of Ypres in Belgium on the Western front.The case comes with A5 laminated information card.
