This is a unusual find from the battlefield brass butt plate from pistol or smaller rifle not sure which type or country. The plate which is 3 half inches long has partly discoloured from being buried. It does still retain the some of the brass colour. It is in fantastic condition for a recovered item. It has been very well cleaned and is perfect for display or any collection.
The butt plate was found many years ago on the Somme battlefield of 1916-1918.The butt plate has been in a private collection for many years now available for the first time outside of the Somme battlefield . A very unusual item from the very famous Somme battlefield.
