Blown apart structure section with original green paintwork remains from a Soviet T-34-76 tank, recovered from the site of destroyed tank of 5th Guards Army in the area, Psel River near Kursk 1943
This is a blown apart structure section from a Soviet T-34-76 tank that was hit and blown apart. The structure section which is 8 inches long and 6 inches wide and looks like a connector bracket with rivets attached and lots of original green paintwork remains which is very clear to see and is in relic but solid condition. It is rusty but has no holes or significant damage and has been carefully cleaned, making it ideal for display or any military collection. The structure section was recovered from the site of destroyed tank of 5th Guards Army it was recovered in the area of the Psel River, south of Kursk on the Voronezh front. This area was defended by them against the German 2nd SS Panzer corps during the battle part of Operation Citadel the German Kursk offensive in July-August 1943 in Russia.The structure part comes with 2x A5 laminated information cards with a map.

The name indicated the primary geographical region in which the front first fought, based on the town of Voronezh on the Don River. The front was established at the end of June 1942 when the German 6th Army reached Voronezh during the early stages of Operation Blau. The Voronezh Front participated in the battle of Voronezh, the defensive operations on the approaches to Stalingrad, and in the December 1942 , the follow-on to the encirclement of German 6th Army at Stalingrad. In the battle of Kursk in July- August 1943, the front operated on the southern shoulder, during which it commanded the Battle of Prokhorovka its self on the Soviet side.
