Blown apart Russian 76.2mm ZIS 3 anti-tank gun projectile recovered from Psel River area, south of Kursk the July-August 1943 battle

This is a Russian 76.2mm projectile nose section fired by a Zis 3 ant-tank gun it is the top part of the projectile which has ripped and blown off when it was fired and possibly hit something hard. The projectile does not retain its original colour it is rusty but solid and in very nice condition for a battlefield recovered shell part it has been well cleaned and is perfect for display or any collection. The projectile comes with A5 laminated information card.

The projectile was recovered from woods in the area of the Psel River, south of Kursk on the Voronezh front. This area was defended by them against the German 2nd SS Panzer corps during the battle part of Operation Citadel the German Kursk offensive in July-August 1943 in Russia. The case comes with 2 X A5 laminated information card with pictures.
