American soldiers M1910 mess kit which was found in the village of Bras near Bastogne at the end of the Battle of the Bulge 1944-1945

This is a nice condition battlefield find which is a American soldiers M1910 mess kit The tin is near complete missing its handle which has rusted away and has some of original black paintwork remains on the bottom it is in nice solid condition the aluminium still retains a lot of its original shiny colour both parts are there and do lock into each other.The tin does still have some dirt on it and it is in semi- relic but solid condition but overall very good, nice condition for a recovered battlefield find nicely cleaned and perfect for display or any collection.The mess tin which was found in the village of Bras. Which on the 13th January 1945 the Americans were fighting against the German 26th Volksgrenadier Division these were the last German soldiers occupying the village of Bras near Bastogne at the end of the Battle of the Bulge 1944-1945.The tin comes with A5 laminated information card.

On January 14th 1945 in the village of Bras a historic meeting took place when the American forces linked up with the British forces and drove the Germans back into Germany. The Queen’s Own Cameron Highlanders from Scotland meet up with soldiers from the U.S. 87th Infantry Division in Bras on that day effectively closing the bulge.
