Very rare American fired-exploded 81mm M57 White Phosphorus Smoke Mortar which was fired at the German 5th Parachute Division recovered outside of the town of Wiltz ,Ardennes Forest 1944

This is a very rare American fired and exploded 81mm M57 White Phosphorus Smoke Mortar with all of its maker markings and dated 1944 on the bottom all very clear to see. The mortar bomb was fired and exploded battlefield relic that is nearly complete with most of its fins it has bent or ripped from impact. This back section of a standard 81mm mortar retains its brass primer and has its lovely originals colours amazing enough rust free and was blown off in the explosion after being fired. The piece is empty and inert, deactivated by condition. The mortar is solid and retaining most of its original green and grey paintwork and has very little rust. The metal is a bit pitted but overall in very good condition for display or inclusion in any collection. It was recovered many years ago this is why its in such good condition. The bomb was fired at the German 5th Parachute Division. The bomb was recovered from the forest outside of the town of Wiltz on the Belgium-Luxembourg border the area was attacked and captured by them on 16-18th December 1944 during the German offensive in the Ardennes Forest the battle of the bulge in the winter of 1944-1945. The bomb comes with 2xA5 laminated information cards.
