This is a lovely condition aluminium airframe section which is a nice clean joint which also has a steel connector attached which is rusty. The part which still retains its lovely original colour and is in relic condition overall lovely condition it has ripped off by the impact of the crash it is in relic but solid condition and have been nicely cleaned perfect for display or any collection and is 8 inches long and 8 inches wide in size. The part comes from American B17G Flying Fortress 43-37516 'Tondalayo' was an overall matt black finished special operations aircraft attached to the 406th Night Leaflet Squadron based at Cheddington. This B17 bomber was the personal aircraft of the unit's commander, Lieutenant Colonel Aber and being retained by him when the squadron converted to B-24 Liberators.Lieutenant Colonel Aber was on his 51st mission when he was shot down on the 4th March 1945 by friendly fire. The part comes with 2x A5 laminated information cards with pictures of the actual bomber.
