Large airframe structure section with corrosion from German Blohm u. Voss BV 138 C-1 Seedrache (Sea Dragon) work number 0310 which crashed on the 14th May 1942 in Norway
This is a aluminium airframe structure part which is a large section of aluminium structure which does have some corrosion from laying around on the cliff side where the aircraft crashed .The part has only small amount of paintwork remains it is in nice condition it has ripped and bent by the impact crash it is in relic but solid condition and has been nicely cleaned perfect for display or any collection and is 23 inches long by 8 inches in size.The section is from German Blohm u. Voss BV 138 C-1 Seedrache (Sea Dragon) Long range Maritime Reconnaissance aircraft work number 0310 K6=B: of 3./KuGr 406 which crashed on 14th May 1942 in Norway.The part comes with 2x A5 laminated information sheets with pictures of the crash site. The part has come from a private collection which the items were collected many years ago directly from the crash sites he visited and found including surface finds or some aircraft that were dug out and recovered all these parts now available for the first time.
The Seedrache accidently crashed into mountain Soppen at Sørvær, in Norway due to bad weather. The Pilot Feldwebel.Hans Bunte. Oberleutant.zur See Ernst Dinsing. Unteroffizer.Karl Mehrhoff. Obergefreiter.Karl Heinz Warnke. Obergefreiter.Wilhelm Hänseler were all killed in the crash. Only 297 of these aircraft were made production stopped in 1943.
