Airframe and engine parts from German he111,number 5376 shot down on 27th August 1940 while on raid over Coventry
This is a nice to get group of parts from the crash site of a German bomber shot down in the Battle of Britain which there is not much about of this aircraft at all. This group which is 4 parts in all airframe and engine parts with some original colour also grey and green paintwork remains fairly clear to see they have been very well cleaned they are in nice solid condition they have ripped and bent by the impact of the crash they are perfect for display or any collection and are 3-9 inches long in size. The parts come from German Heinkel 111 bomber of 3/KG1 number 5376 shot down in the early hours of Tuesday Morning the 27th August 1940 while on a night bombing raid over Coventry. The airframe section comes with 2X A5 laminated information sheets with pictures.
The aircraft was caught in searchlights forcing the crew to drop their bombs blind with both engines not working properly trying to limp home but no success the plane lost height and crashed. The aircraft was shot down by anti-aircraft fire whilst on a mission to bomb factories in Coventry at 02.31am in the morning. The bomber crashed in to Manor Avenue in Caterham, Surrey. The crew Gruppenkommandeur Major W. Fanelsa, Feldwebel F. Meyer, Oberfeldwebel A. Vetter, Oberfeldwebel E. Braunsburger and Gefreiter G. Zimpel all baled out and were captured.
