Glass-framed aluminium airframe sections with black paintwork remains from German Ju87b-1 stuka dive bomber of 3/stG2 which was shot down on 16th August 1940 during the battle of Britain
This is a glass-framed very rare pair of aluminium airframe sections that one still retains some of its original black paintwork. The parts have ripped,bent and smashed by the impact of the crash but are in nice solid condition and have been carefully cleaned. They are presented in a glass-fronted box frame, complete with all aircraft information and numerous photographs including crash site pictures , making it perfect for display or any collection. The frame measures 13 inches by 13 inches in size.The parts come from German Ju87b-1 stuka dive bomber of 3/stG2.This dive bomber was shot down at 1.00pm on the 16th August 1940 during the battle of Britain.
The aircraft was shot down by RAF Hurricanes of NO 43 Squadron and 601 Squadron during a dive bomb attack on Tangmere Airfield. The plane crashed and exploded at Honar Farm in Pagham the crew Unteroffizier P.Linse and Obergefreiter R.Messerschmidt.
