This is a rare find from the battlefield which could be British or German as there is no difference in make they are a pair of caltrop anti-infantry or horse spikes. The caltrops are nearly complete but rusty and are in relic but solid condition not braking up or falling apart and have been very well cleaned perfect for display or a unusual pair for any collection.The caltrops where recovered from an old German Trench line near the village of Mametz on the Somme battlefield of July 1916 part of the famous battle and where recovered in 2016.The caltrops comes with A5 laminated information card with picture.
