German heavy field howitzer 15cm SFH18 rare two part lapped steel shell casing. Recovered near the village of Mont near Houffalize in the Ardennes forest many years ago and has been in a local collection since.
Base markings are just partially visible - the 6350 case identification number and batch number 13 . unfortunately the Waffenamt stamp and production year markings have been lost to time.
Couple of small holes through the metal however the case is solid - could be further cleaned and preserved.
One of the many variations the Germans produced to simplify manufacture and save brass.
